Residential prices include GST. Commercial grounds pricing is plus GST on 20-day invoicing. Starting prices apply to a standard, kept-up section with normal access; larger, steep or overgrown properties are quoted individually — always before we start.
What moves the price
Six things we look at when quoting
Lawn area
Priced by square metre bands. A standard 600 m² Christchurch section is the base rate.
Slope & access
Hill sections in Cashmere, Lyttelton or Mt Pleasant take longer and may need different gear.
Condition
Overgrown lawns need a recovery cut first. Kept-up lawns start at the regular rate.
Frequency
Weekly and fortnightly rounds get the best per-visit rate. One-off cuts cost more per visit.
Extras
Clipping removal, edging beds, hedge trims and garden tidies can be bundled into the visit.
Commercial scope
Grounds contracts are priced per site per month from a written scope, plus GST.

How much does lawn mowing cost in Christchurch?
With PrestigePro, regular lawn mowing in Christchurch starts from $45 per visit for a standard 600 m² section, including edges and a blow-off. Larger, steeper or overgrown sections are quoted individually — most residential mows fall between $45 and $120 per visit. Prices are GST inclusive with no callout fee.
Is the price the same every visit?
Yes. Once quoted, your per-visit price is fixed for the season regardless of how the grass has grown between visits. We adjust the frequency with the seasons — weekly in spring, monthly in winter — not the price.
What changes the price?
Lawn area is the main factor, then slope and access (Port Hills sections take longer than flat ones), obstacles like trees and garden beds, how overgrown it is at the first visit, and whether you want clippings removed. Frequency also matters: fortnightly clients get a lower per-visit rate than one-off cuts.
Do you charge extra for the first cut?
Only if the lawn is overgrown. A lawn that's been kept up is charged at the normal per-visit price from day one. If it's over about 150 mm we'll quote a one-off recovery cut first, then the regular price from the second visit.
Are prices GST inclusive?
Residential prices on this page include GST. Commercial grounds contracts are quoted plus GST, as is standard for business-to-business work, and are invoiced monthly on 20-day terms.
Do you have a minimum charge?
Our minimum visit is $45. For a very small lawn we'll usually pair the mow with edge trimming or a quick tidy so you get full value from the visit.
How do I pay?
Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Direct Debit, 20-Day Account Invoicing. Regular clients are invoiced after each visit or monthly; one-off jobs are invoiced on completion.
